2022-12-31 Diary (2022 Memoir)
Today is 2022’s last day. So, I’m writing a 2022 Memoir. :-D
Graduated University
After completing BoB in the first half of the year, I returned to University. At the same time, I joined the company, so I didn’t go to University, but I devoted time to graduation assignments. I tended to go to University diligently during the past period. I always did my best to do my assignments or not be absent… etc. Going to University while working at the same time was harder than I thought. The hardest thing was to do graduation assignments. Still, thanks to the team members, I was able to finish my graduation assignments well and received the highest grade of A+. I’m very satisfied.
The content of graduation assignment is as follows. We proposed a market and developed a system to trade ultra-light food for single students or dormitory students attending our University. My role in the project was DB development and backend development. We use the Node JS for development.
I was able to successfully achieve my graduation in August by successfully obtaining the license(정보처리기사) for graduation within the deadline. I’m so glad. In fact, around the time I graduated, I formed a team as a University student and participated in the offline CTF. I placed on 6th in 2022 Hektheon Sejong 1st CTF. My role was Pwnable. I also worked hard to solve the problem, but in the end, I think I won the award thanks to other people.
Joining and Leaving the company
I joined an offensive research company in March of this year, a month before completing BoB. It was my first social life outside of University and BoB. I originally intended to organize my life in Seoul after completing BoB and go to the school dormitory to rest. However, the company gave me a good opportunity of assignments and interviews, so I worked hard and passed and joined the company. So, I remember canceling my University dormitory in a hurry. I thought attending a company was a much better opportunity for me than going back to University. I joined the company with such a hopeful mindset, but resigned in September.
There are many reasons for leaving the company, but one of them is to travel in search of a dream.(?) I felt cramped while going to the company, and even though I only went to the company for a short period of time, I didn’t think it was helpful. It has been about 3 months since I left. I am so happy now. I don’t think in a hurry and have time to spare, so I’m working on the computer with a more enjoyable mind than before. I really like myself for having this mindset.
Demon Team
Demon team did a lot of things this year. Next year, I want to do a lot of useful and fresh things.
- Although the team name was not listed in the article, We participated in the CDDC 2022 program. My role in the program was prepared for basic English lectures on overall security. I remember preparing for about two months from April.

I was prepared Chungbuk Hacking Camp system hacking lecture and Pwnable field of CTF. The CDDC above was an online lecture, but this Chungbuk Hacking Camp lecture was an offline. I remember being very nervous because it was my first offline presentation. It was disappointing that out of 20 high school students, there were only 1 or 2 students who focused more on Pwnable than expected. However, I felt fortunate that I prepared a really basic lecture. I remember that this was in July.
I gave a presentation of Summer Hacking camp. And I wrote a Pwanble challenge for the CTF held in there. The presentation was prepared with a senior from the previous company. I don’t remember exactly when, but I remember it was after the Hacking camp in Chungbuk. The topic of the presentation is my history of system hacking up to this point. I thought it was enough to share the experience because I completed BoB shortly after I started studying and joined the company right away. However, now I am confident that I have grown much more skillfully than I did back then. If there are good results in my personal research, I would like to make a presentation at Hacking Camp with technical content next time.
I wrote a Pwnable challenge for the Women’s Hacking Contest Power Of XX. There were two challenges each in the preliminaries and finals. In the finals, I wrote a one more challenge for Misk. This is November, and it is the time when I left the company. That’s why I had relatively more time, so I did a lot of research on the challenge, and I’m attached to it. Information on the challenge is attached below.
New beginnings (with MacBook Air M2)
After leaving the scompany, everything changed. I always hacked with an anxious and urgent mindset, but now I have a time to spare. It’s a fun and happy feeling. I received a MacBook as a gift this time, and I feel happier because I use it. Speaking of Mac, I have been using Windows, Linux, and Mac OS this year. I’ve been using Linux for about 3 months and Mac for about a month, but I like Mac the most. It is the prettiest and most sophisticated feeling.
Anyway, I’m happy to be able to greet 2023 with a new MacBook. I feel like I can live happily ever after. I will have to use my MacBook for the rest of my life! ;)
